  • Come one, come all....come novice painter, come experienced painter. It is time for the first annual Damascus Brush contest. Put yourself and your brush to the test in this 8 week long challenge. What is the Damascus Brush? The Damascus Brush is an 8 week long painting challenge to put your skill, creativity, and endurance to the test. Every 2 week you will be giving a new theme prompt. You will submit all 4 of your entries at the end of the 8 weeks via photos on the official forums. Once all submissions are in they will be judged by myself, Becky from the Game Shoppe, and Missy from the Geek Room. There will be a community vote for points as well. Each entry will be judged on the following: Holding To The Theme, Creativity, Execution, & Technique. Each category will contribute to your overall score which will then have the community vote added. Individual with highest score will earn 1st place. At this time the challenge is free to enter and a prize list will be provided for that set up. A prize list for a $5 entry will be provided as well. If at the end of the challenge all participants choose to pay the $5 fee the secondary prize list will be issued. If the contest is run free of charge then prizes will be 1st place a 3D printed bust of your choice (out of 5 possibilities) and a 3D printed brush holder, 2nd place will receive a 3D printed model of your choice and a 3D printed brush holder, 3rd place will receive a 3D printed brush holder. If the contest is run at a $5 entry fee then the prizes will be the same with the inclusion of 1st place winning a set of Games & Gears brushes.
